Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 14, 2026

This policy describes what actually happens, not what a template says might happen. The short version: what you log in Three Macros stays in your own browser, and we never receive it.

1. The short version

Three Macros is a standalone file that runs in your browser. It has no account, no login and no server behind it. The foods you log, your goals, your weights, your pantry and your history never leave your device — they are not uploaded to us, and we have no way to read them.

The information we do receive is limited to what a purchase and a support conversation require: an email address, and whatever you choose to write to us.

2. What you give us

Your email address, when you buy. Stripe collects it at checkout and passes it to us so that your product can be delivered to you.

Your email address, if you join the update list. The sign-up form on our home page is handled by Netlify Forms. It asks for an email address and nothing else. The form also includes a hidden field used only to catch automated spam submissions.

Whatever you write to support. Our support links open your own email program with a message addressed to us. If you write in, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

3. Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted checkout pages. Card numbers, expiry dates and security codes are entered on Stripe's systems, not ours.

We never see, handle or store your card details. What reaches us after a successful purchase is a confirmation from Stripe containing your email address, so we know where to send the product.

4. Your food log and app data

This is the section most people care about, so we want to be precise.

The Three Macros application contains no code that sends data anywhere. There are no network requests, no analytics calls, no telemetry and no background reporting inside it. Everything you enter is written to your browser's local storage on that device and read back from there.

That means we do not receive, and cannot access:

  • the foods, meals or recipes you log;
  • your macro goals or starting numbers;
  • your weights or weight history;
  • your pantry, your calendar, or any part of your tracking history.

The practical trade-off is the one described in our Terms: because nothing is stored on a server, there is no backup. Clearing your browser or site data, using private browsing, or switching browsers or devices can erase what you have saved, and we cannot restore it.

The same applies to the preview on this website. Anything you enter there is demo data held in your own browser, and it is never transmitted to us.

5. Browser storage

Three Macros uses your browser's local storage to keep your information between visits. This is storage that belongs to your browser, on your device, under your control — you can clear it at any time through your browser's settings.

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies on this website.

6. Website and technical data

This website carries no analytics service — no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no third-party tracking script of any kind.

As with any website, the company that hosts it (Netlify) processes ordinary technical information such as IP addresses and request logs as part of serving pages and keeping the service running and secure. That is standard infrastructure logging carried out by our host, and it is governed by their privacy practices.

When a purchase completes, our delivery function records a small amount of operational detail to our host's function logs — for example whether the delivery email was sent successfully and the identifier of the checkout session — so that we can tell if a delivery has failed and put it right.

7. How we use information

We use the limited information we hold to:

  • deliver the product you bought;
  • answer your support messages and handle purchase problems;
  • send product news to people who have asked for it by joining the update list;
  • keep the website working and protect it from abuse and fraudulent purchases.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.

8. Service providers

A small number of companies necessarily handle information on our behalf:

  • Stripe — payment processing and checkout.
  • Netlify — website hosting, the email sign-up form, and the function that processes purchase confirmations.
  • Resend — sending your delivery email after a purchase.
  • Google (Gmail) — receiving and storing email sent to our support address.

These are the only third parties involved. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.

9. Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We do want to be accurate rather than absolute: the service providers listed above necessarily receive information in order to do their jobs — Stripe cannot process a payment without your details, and Resend cannot send your delivery email without your address. That is processing on our behalf, which is a different thing from selling your information. We do not do the latter.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect against fraud or misuse.

10. How long we keep things

We keep purchase and support records for as long as we need them to support customers, keep proper records of sales, and meet legal and tax obligations. Update-list sign-ups are kept until you ask to be removed. Information held by Stripe, Netlify, Resend and Google is retained according to their own schedules.

Your app data is not part of this, because we never hold it. It stays on your device until you delete it.

11. Security

We keep the amount of personal information we hold deliberately small, use reputable providers for payment and email, and verify that purchase confirmations genuinely come from Stripe before acting on them.

No website or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. What we can say is that the most sensitive category — your health and food data — is never transmitted to us in the first place.

12. Children

Three Macros is intended for adults managing their own nutrition. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the personal information we hold — commonly the right to ask what we have, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of marketing. These rights differ by country and region, and not every right applies everywhere.

In practice, the information we hold about you is likely to be a purchase record, an email address, and any support correspondence. To ask about it, correct it, or have it deleted, email threemacros@gmail.com and we will help. To leave the update list, tell us and we will remove you.

14. Links to other sites

This website and the product link out to other sites — for example Stripe's checkout, and reference material published by organisations such as the FDA. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not cover them.

15. Changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this policy will change with it, and the “last updated” date at the top of the page will tell you when. We would rather revise this page than let it drift out of step with the product.

16. Contact

Questions about privacy, or about what we hold, are welcome.
